Today was a good day, but I've been prone to thinking that it was a relatively unremarkable one. In the past, this might have seemed like a bit of a let down, but today things appear a little clearer from a different perspective.
I have come to think of days that unfold in this manner as "Consolidation Days." There were definitely new things happening, as there always are. Living life is an act of creation where time slows to form energy which slows to form mass. The products of the friction of the slowing are what we see and experience, and sometimes those products are not the explosive starburst of light but look like a steady stream of cool sparks.
Life's really pretty fantastic even on those Consolidation Days where nothing worth noting seems to have happened. Those days are difficult to write about, so I'll leave you with some pictures from the evening pedestrian locomotion.

Capitol Building in the Gathering Darkness - Senate Side |
I was once again struck by the majesty of the Capitol Building. I'm really looking forward to the day that the scaffolding surrounding the dome is removed.

Capitol Building Earlier in the Evening - House of Representatives Side |
This would have been a really phantastic panoramic shot, but the dome looks like it stymied Google's best efforts at merging the photos given the level of detail. Even so, the sky was amazing.

Anacostia River Sunset - Stylized Version |
I have never been a great fan of the stylized offerings that Google has delivered to my mobile device, but I wanted to share this because friends have suggested that these scratch some itch for them.

Anacostia River Sunset |
This one is my favorite from the evening. The view down the Anacostia River Walk Park looking downstream is a great view. The folks that will eventually live in the apartment/condo building in the middle of the picture that is currently under construction are going to have some fantastic views.
